I find the phenomenon of still life as a subject in painting truly fascinating. For an artist, the need to assemble and arrange objects has apparently been fundamental for a long time. It was also considered fundamental in the lives of others. The works found their way onto the walls of rooms where people lived, whispering their meaning in the background, of things we don’t want to forget.
